1st weekend of term 2
WOHOO!!!
the 1st weekend of term 2 has finally came! un/fortunately there is still homework to be done, so a bit of slacking is allowed. Our Kind chinese rep, Ervin, has used the class fund to buy the chinese 稿纸 for everyone and you guys need not buy. the homework for this weekend are as the following: 1. GP CLSPERM (both sides) 2. And now for an unsually mature announcement.
Well, i still find it amusing that you all think im some GP/Geog/Humanities genius. Truth is.. im really not. but i would like to help you guys in this area. Haha You see, i had just started on geography, when i got a message from Shu Han. "Pls Help Me for Geog!" So i started to watch the videos. The truth is.. the first video about mexico confused the living crap out of me. what with the sesimic gaps and earthquakesblahblah. after watching it multiple times without understanding, i was ready to give up. BUT, INSTEAD I WENT ON TO SEARCH FOR AN EXPLANATION to what i was confused about. i looked up the 1985 mexico city earthquake on wikipedia, and followed the links to sesimic gaps. understanding along the way. You see, Humanities arent like your usual maths science subjects, where the content is dictated to you and you can just absorb it directly. For GP, you really need to look for the information on your own sometimes. I can imagine your immediate response would be: ZOMGG SO MA FAN. Chilll. Haha the trick to it is that you need to enjoy it! the topics surrounding GP are naturally very very interesting. The NEWSPAPER is the best way to get you into these topics. trust me, just read a bit during breakfast or lunch or free time. Secondly, the internet is a very very good place for getting information. its all about knowing where to look. personally, wikipedia is my go-to source for information. usually its pretty accurate. Furthermore, the everything on wikipedia is related to each other. See those blue words? those are links to specific topics. if you want to learn more about it, just open the link in a new window and go and look! its really interesting! personally, i can spend hours on wiki just following links. OKAY. dont treat it as studying. let your own interest in the subject take you. dont worry about getting distracted! thats the point! getting distracted and following a link somewhere else means your going to learn tons more information. The beauty of it is that, you dont even need to memorise anything. Just read it, go OHH.. then it'll be passively stored in your brain. Remember, let your own interest and passion lead you in finding out information. -elliott
